Scalp Micropigmentation is the creation of hair follicle simulation which creates the look of real hair on the male or female scalp. This can be either to give the appearance of shaved or short hairs or add density to thinning hair. It’s achieved by strategically placing colour pigments to replicate the follicle base on the scalp.
After experiencing thinning hair in my 30's I know what that does to self confidence and how it impacts you everyday. I discovered SMP and it gave me my confidence back and I wanted to help others get their bounce back.
I am a qualified SMP Practitioner after completing my qualification in June 2021.

What exactly is scalp micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation is essentially a hair tattoo that mimics a hair follicle, giving the appearance of a full head of hair. Using hair-colour pigment, a needle is used to inject the pigment into the areas of the head affected by hair loss. Unlike other hair restoration methods, scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive, quick, and shows immediate results.
How many
treatment sessions are needed?
Generally, patients will require two or four sessions of scalp micropigmentation to receive the results they desire. Each session can last between two and four hours, depending on the area being covered. Between each session, patients will have to wait at least 10 days before having another session. The great thing about this treatment option is that this isn’t a process that takes years to see results. After the first session, patients will begin to see results.
Is the
procedure painful?
Most people who undergo scalp micropigmentation report minimal pain. While the needles are fairly large and scary looking, hair tattoos are less painful than traditional tattoos. And unlike some other hair restoration procedures, patients won’t feel pain after scalp micropigmentation. Some soreness is to be expected, but the pain of this procedure is very little.
What is the healing process like After the procedure, patients will experience redness for a few hours. But the healing process overall is very minimal. If patients follow the care instructions following the procedure, they will heal as quickly as their body lets them. But patients can go about their normal routines the day after the procedure with no problem.
On a daily basis, people shed an average of 50 to 100 hairs. But if you’re experiencing drastic hair loss, a hair tattoo could be the solution. If you’re looking for a hair loss solution that is non-invasive and shows immediate results, scalp micropigmentation may be right for you
